It has estimated that the US consumption of single use paper cups is some 108 billion cups per year, the UK uses an estimated 2.5 billion paper cups every year and in Australia the figure is 1 billion.

The numbers are staggering.

It all ends up polluting our planet or in landfill because they are lined with plastic and will not decompose or recycle.

And what of the so-called eco ones?

They are still made from trees.

Trees grow slowly and that means destroy more forests.

Recycling is helping, but nowhere enough

At Planet Ecologica’s The Green Factory located in Guangxi China, we are partnered by The Republic of China’s agricultural sector to replace slow growing tree based pulp for paper, with an unlimited supply of sustainable, degradable, fast growing plant based pulp called PlantPulp. It is sourced from waste collected from Guangxi’s enormous sugar cane industry – the largest on earth. We then transform it into our signature paper replacement material, IAM AM NOT PAPER. It looks like paper, feels like paper, prints like paper, but it’s not paper.
